Need somebody to check a link....

I've started a "Yahoo group" to put some of my jewelry on-line-- sort of an interim while trying to get the where/when/how/what/etc to do a website.

Could somebody check if they can "see" this picture-- it's a scan of a necklace made with Tink Beads, already sold, so this isn't an ad.

(sold).jpg&.src=gr If you can see that, can you also go from there to any other photos or the files? The "home page"?

If "yes" to these questions, are you already registered with Yahoo?

If you want to "join" my group... let me know. I need members to keep it open.... Is anybody else here doing something like this, who doesn't have a website?

Kaytee, I am a member of several yahoogroups, but when I cut and pasted your link I got a "group check" error...whatever that means! Good luck getting it up and running, Arleen

I am a member also and got the same error : (.

Yahoo URLs suck...they are too freaking long.

Try this direct link to the group:

Then select Photos. However, you need to be a member of the group to see anything, which is why everyone will get errors.

OK.... Can you get to this? The scan is in the "necklaces" folder, in the Photo section.

there are a lot of groups with only 5 members so I think others have the same idea

Hmmm.... I tried to set it so that non-members could see the photos, but have the message board "private" (so it doesn't get stuffed with SPAM)....

Oh, well, it'll have to do until I can hold still long enough to put together a website. Kaytee "Simplexities" on

Kaytee, I'm a yahoo-er and not a member, but I could see the pic of the necklace. Stunning, btw:)

Yes indeed and I didn't have to join the group. Looking good.

Dang.... I don't want it to be a "public" group, because then there are problems with those who join to SPAM groups, but I wanted to be able to link to the photos or files....

If I read the set-up right, I selected the option of having the Photo and Files sections viewable to the Public.... Only the Messages are "member only".

Answering Armand: Yes, I do get the impression that others are doing the same as me re: a private Yahoo group to post their works... there are over 400 beading groups. However-- does anybody HERE, like on RBC, have one? Somebody who doesn't have a website? I know there are a few who have them to supplement their websites, but does anybody here have just the Yahoo group? Kaytee "Simplexities" on

Set your group to have everyone who is new to the group moderated unless you change their permissions. That way no one can post spam to the group as you have to approve all messages from new members. You can change the status of any member to unmoderated once you see that they're posting real messages.

Whew... it works.... Any non-Yahooers able to see it??

Tink beads ARE stunning.... It's hard to use them, because then I don't HAVE them anymore. The purple/olive combo on these sounds horrid, but looks fabulous. Despite a relatively "high end" price (>$100 in a shop that sells import jewelry as well), this sold the first month it was on display. Kaytee "Simplexities" on

I did that when I set the group up. Also made the mss "members only", but the photos and files are "public" for viewing (not for posting). I THINK I "unmoderated" my first real member (1 of 3!) when I approved her post.... Kaytee "Simplexities" on

It SOUNDS like a healing bruise, to me.... But it looks great.

Try to "see" it at the Yahoo group.

Go to "photos", then to "necklaces", then "lampwork". It's the one with the big Thai silver rose as a focal. Shirley was not able to see it, and if I recall, has trouble seeing anything on Yahoo, but others who are already signed up someway with Yahoo seem to be able to see it, even without joining this group. Not sure if somebody in the US but not a "Yahooer" can see it. If you can't, and want to see it, let me know, and I'll e-mail you the scan. Of course, you are welcome to join "my group", if you want (it'll make Yahoo happier with me...). Kaytee "Simplexities" on
