New pics, new & nearly new work and new light box too!

Finally tried out a light box I won on ebay months ago! I only have one proper light for it right now (daylight fluorescent in one of those aluminum clamp-on shop fixtures) but the results were pretty good, if I say so myself! :) The box and light are way easy to setup/use and since the light box (12x24) folds flat, and has a nifty zippered soft case, it's easy to store as well.

Oh! And some new necklaces as well! :) A couple are pieces I've been working on for awhile, finished weeks and even months ago, and some are brand new. There are a few more finished necklaces I need to photograph but those will have to wait for another day!

Lovely necklaces Polly. I would be hard put to find the one I liked best because they are all good. Shirley

Wonderful necklaces! Could you share the source of your light box? I would love to have a real light box and one that folds would be a bonus. Peace, Lilyflower snipped-for-privacy@theworld.com

Polly, such a wonderful treat to look at your necklaces!

I found myself especially fond of the copper and green one with the Kalera dichroic pendant, but they are all lovely! Annie

Me too! I seldom wear necklaces, other than my silver chain (w/ two tiny silver baby shoes), but I adopted the copper one and have given it quite a workout! But I really love the black onyx and pale green turquoise w/ the pair of Kalera beads as well. The turquoise disks are really beautiful and 'feel' wonderful with the smooth round onyx. The colors in Kaleras beads demanded the turq and onyx and who am I to argue!!! :)

Also... Lilyflower asked about a source for the light box. The company is xpro.us but their website is dead and useless. The seem to be selling on ebay only now.

I got the rectangular one (12x24) just because I thought it would be more versatile and it seems to be!

Those are all awesome! Kalera's beads do demand the best components. I have the hardest time putting them together with other stones and beads... I really like how you complemented and strung them.

Thank you! They usually tell me what to do!

I have some *awesome* sets coming for Christmas, from both Kalera and Nicole. Can't wait to get my hands on them! I was a bad girl and may not have a bead budget for Jan and Feb... but ohhhhhh, they are *so* worth suffering later!!! :) hehehe

AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! I can't wait to see your creations. The cinnamon stones...the colors. They were my favorite. That kinda suffering I can understand LOL.

That surprises me because usually I'm not a big fan of hematite. Guess I've just never seen it paired quite so prettily before this...

Well the 'base' is basically dark grey seed beads... the hematite are just the larger round beads. There was a thread a long time back about grey and I realized I had a lot of beads in grey... seed beads, fw pearls, glass pearls, the hematite rounds and some czech and chinese crystals. I don't do random very well but, with some encouragement from our wonderful vj, I resisted the urge to count and ignored my need for symmetry... to a point!

I did decide to bite the bullet and list on ebay. I have 4 auctions starting tonight and will be adding more this coming week. A lot of them will be with beautiful lampwork I have been 'collecting', and have hoarded long enough!!! Don't know how much good listing on ebay will do but I was being overrun by finished necklaces and have nearly a dozen close to finished... so.. what the heck, why not!?! I long ago realized that, for me, making jewelry doesn't have anything to do with whether it sells or not... Making it is the 'heart' part, if it sells that's icing on the cake! That's not to say I don't like to know that others like/buy/wear my necklaces... I actually love that part. I just won't stop even if my work gets lost in the thousands of other auctions! Besides... if I were ever to get well known for my work (ROFLMAO) you can always say you have one of the first I dared to put 'out there'!!!

I did a quick search before I read closely enough to realize that you have not yet put up the first 4 auctions. Pls be sure to post a link to them when you do.

BTW: Is your eBay ID Saxoncreek? Or is it BeadfulHeart now? For some reason I failed to add you to my eBay Favorites...silly me!

Thanks for the reminder! :) It was saxon_creek... I just changed it beadful_heart! It seems weird leaving saxon_creek behind after so many years but with the domain name change etc it makes sense. Needed to change other old info as well.

Will post a link tonight or after I add a few more!

Aww, you needn't be too sad, for you haven't left saxon_creek too awfully far behind yet:

Eventually though, it'll start getting pouty & stomp off to it's room, prolly pack some stuff in a cliche 'do-rag on a stick & run away from home. :-D

All my old ebay names are train-hopping hobos now... Though, one had a brief employment as one of the sideshow oddities in the circus . We sure were proud!

I notice that you have listed the grey necklace! I hadn't see the clasp before...it's so pretty. I am really tempted.
