new to the group

hi everyone..I'm new to this group. I figured I'd post a bit of an introduction before replying to threads here.

anyways, my name is Amber, and I'm 22 years old. I live in Kentucky, and I've been interested in beadwork since I was a little girl. I started getting really serious about it last year, and started reading bead & button magazine and learning how to do things like peyote stitch.

here are some of my latest pieces. I apologize for the haphazard nature of the first page, as it was thrown together in a hurry, and I've not had time to organize the pictures yet.

Hi Amber and welcome to the madness! LOL

That seashore piece is stunning! I love your other work too, but that one stands out screaming at me.

Be careful here. We'll likely get you involved in more beading projects than you ever thought about. Maybe even get you to a torch someday.

the seashore necklace has been my most elaborate piece yet. it took me hours to do. it's funny, that since finishing that the other projects like amulet bags, which take me about 3 hours to make, seem to work up so fast now.

by getting me to a torch, I'm assuming you mean making lampworked beads..I've been looking through this group, and many of the lampworked beads I've seen here have been absolutely beautiful. I'd love to learn how. I'm just waiting till I have enough money to take some classes.

Those are gorgeous. They look familiar; have I seen them on the LiveJournal 'beadwork' community?
