OT: Good news and bad news

vj found this in rec.crafts.beads, from Kathy N-V :

]Holy Moley. I am always astonished when people tell me that their parents ]are so much older than mine.

so i'm old. you didn't know that?

there are 25 years between mom and me.

25 more between me and my oldest. J&J were MUCH later.

No you're not. You're roughly my age. Everyone is roughly my age.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

so could the walking from the Mr. M. story, provided Mom has her legs about her. She's been flat for a while--peristaltic muscles get weak and need to be moved around too, and things settle into pockets when stuff isn't moving like it should---gas in a bend of the bowel can be so painful you are SURE your heart is coming out or something...See if they can't get her up and moving soon. And get her on the acidophilis if at all possible too, or just daily yogurt--good for putting back all the good bacteria that has been killed off in her bowel and entire system. Good bacteria fights and keeps down the bad stuff, the baddies multiply and take over in the absensce of the good ones. I know it seems simplistic, but health starts in the mouth and gut and what goes through them.... Sarajane

Sounds great! Hope she's able to come home soon. Will you be able to get an aide to help with home care? Kaytee "Simplexities" on

Kathy I was my mother's 5th, just a few dats before she turned 25. And she was a grandmother at 37. And I was a mother at 18. On the other hand, my father, deceased at 91, was born in 1905, and his parents in 1863 and 1865. My grandparents were in their mid 80s when I was born.

But then, I am 14 years older than you. And this year will begin qualifying for some senior discounts. My oldest sister, Bea, turned 61 this year!

Tomorrow (well today now) night it's supposed to get into the 60's. Supposed is the keyword there. Try sending stuff in February if it's going to melt...that's usually our few days of winter. LOL!
