Re: Walmart -- good news and bad news

Are you looking for instructions or ideas?

Both, I guess.

Yep, got that one a few years ago. That's good for actual metal working but I don't think I'm as advanced with my beads as to need that one yet. Maybe someday...

For wire work, there's a magazine, Wire Artist Journal, I think. WAJ (?). > I would look for a book on basic wire techniques from them -- on hooks, > loops, etc.

I've sort of been avoiding anything that says "wirework" because I think I once saw some stuff I didn't like and got turned off by the name. Obviously I'm missing the nuts and bolts of putting the jewelry together so I bet that's where it has been hiding from me. I'll hunt down some issues. Thanks.

Oh! GOOD IDEA!!

Great idea! Post a photo of it when it gets up and operational, will you please? I'm just starting the buying of the wire, the findings, the additional beads, etc. etc. and I know I'm going to need some good way to handle all that stuff soon, too. It is starting to get overwhelming, I think, there's beads and packages of this and that everywhere.

Thanks for all the great ideas. Sorry it took me so long to answer this post but I've been hiding out in my shed/workshop as much as possible. :)

P.S. I did pick up a used copy of THE ART OF JEWELRY DESIGN just based on the reviews on Amazon. It seems to be theory instead of instructions, which is fine with me, too. Never hurts to go back and review all that stuff I learned (and forgot) in college.
