OT Need some hugvibes

In unpacking most of my boxes from my last move yesterday, I discovered that several boxes were not here. One of them contained the ceramic Mardi Gras masks I've been collecting for the last ten years, one contained old bottles I've found/purchased for the last twenty years and one box contained, among other stuff, the ashes of my Mom cat and Bobo cat.

All gone and irreplaceable. I'm positive the movers dropped the boxes, heard glass break, and tossed them in the nearby dumpster ( a trail of other small personal belongings leading to the dumpster makes me believe this), thinking I'd never notice.

I called the moving company today, crying, and was told to write a letter detailing my losses. The man on the other end told me to stop crying or he would hang up on me.

These movers charged me $85 an hour, and I had to pay in full before they would unload the truck. A lot of my furniture is scratched, dented or broken. To top it off, I gave the 3 of them $100 for a tip.

I am devastated. Thank the Goddess I had Laurie smith make me a Bobo bead with some of his ashes because now I have nothing left og him. This has hurt my heart so bad. I can't believe people would just callously dump another person's belongings rather than apologize for breakage.

I'm seriously considering hiring a lawyer for pain and suffering caused by the loss of my kitties' ashes, never mind the collectibles which cannot be replaced.

Linda -- love you, love you, love you. I lost all my pictures and stuff the last time I moved (my fault not the movers) and between that and the stuff that got stolen at the ranch, I know how you feel. No one can take your memories from you.

I am waving a magic wand to take the jujubees off your new home so it will be a peaceful and loving place for you, now and into the future.

Oh LInda..so sorry to hear this. Did you take pictures of the trail of items? Of the dumpster? I think you've got a good civil suit on your hands if you've got the physical evidence.

How sad to lose things that you cherished so much. No amount of money can replace them. I hope you bring the movers to task over this. Love and hugs to you. Shirley

No, I didn't take pictures. I never imagined that anything of mine would have been tossed into the dumpster. I thought that maybe they spilled a box and didn't pick it all up. Stupid me.

Thank you, Shirley. I will do my best to ensure they do this to no one else.

Hi, I so glad you have your Bobo bead and extend my sympathy for your horrendous moving experience. I hope you can get some satisfaction, legal or otherwise. Best wishes for as good a resolution as possible. Peace, Lilyflower lilyflower @ theworld.com
