You had alot longer than I did...I got my period about 2 weeks after Kyle was brought home from the hospital (the major portion of the bleeding from having him had stopped before we came home from the hospital. and it came back full force 2 weeks later so I can only assume that meant my period.)

But you will have menopause to contend with. Germaine Greer has a good informational book on it called "The Change". You'll want to have a support group for this too. It also will make medications work differently for you.

There is an alt.support.menopuse group that does a count-down: you get to paint one toenail silver for every month you are "paused", and when you get to one year, you get to paint all your toenails gold.... Kaytee "Simplexities" on

Meg and I cosleep too, but her sleep schedule was messed up for so long that for a while she was waking every two hours for night feeds.. or comfort night feeds. I weigh that against very trouble free periods and think Id rather have the uninterupted nights sleep and the period. Its interesting how our experiences with our cycles have us on opposite ends of the spectrum. I dont care one way or another about *that time of month*. You have valid reason to. Diana

The irony is ... that my period started this morning. That'll teach me to -talk about it- next time I get a reprieve of any gratifying length...

But I didn't get beyond three silver ones this time around.

Oh yeah, Evening primrose i can do, but not soy, because soy has phyto estrogens, and i have to stay far far away from anything with estrogen in it. Thanks for the reminder, though!

Thanks. So far it is being fairly painless. Hope I'm not jinxing it by saying so...

Well, at least that is something. My partner gets menstrual migraines, so I figure I've got it easy.

For a while I thought it might have to do with the incontinence that comes around the some time as menopause.

Jalynne, do check on the black cohosh--I thought it also contains phytoestrogens. (as does cannibis) Sarajane

I will do that, thanks....absolutely nothing is gonna go into my body anymore without my checking it out first. I learned that lesson the hard way. Haven't had to worry about it yet, but i'm gonna start the progesterone next week.
