OT: Tens Unit

I am looking to purchase a Tens Unit, but I'm unsure what to ask for. I had Dr. Ho's massage unit that had multiple functions and intensity. Is there a TENs unit out there that might have these functions? Also, for anyone who has purchased is there a place I should look on the web to save money?

I am using Dan's unit that is on loan from therapy. Unfortunately it's set on a custom setting for his knee and he doesn't want me to monkey with it. It is helping a lot and that's why I want to purchase one for myself with the features I'm seeking.

I have seen them on Ebay...and maybe among the descriprions you can pick out some of the different features. I have read differing accounts--some people find they didnt help, some wear the units finding that its made all the difference between life in pain and not. I hope you find what you need for pain relief! Sarajane

Keith has used two deiffernt TENS units. Neither one offered him any more relief than my rubbing his back with "Blue Stuff". And that's a lot less expensive.

The problem is I need deep muscle massage and the TENs on a high number seem to do just that. DH can't give me deep massages it hurts me so much.

Tens is completely different from deep tissue massage. The Tens works by causing the muscles to contract and release, and part of the pain relief is those currents send a message to the brain that overrides the message that you have pain. Deep tissue work manipulates the mass of muscles.
