OT: Updated on DH

Dan called the doctor's office this morning and they were able to get an appointment for him. Then they called and asked him to get x-rays before he came in. It took forever between the radiology place and the doctor's office.

He already knew he had dislocated his knee, but the doc needed to send him onto an orthopedic surgeon. They were originally going to cast his leg, but then they opted to do a full leg brace. Unfortunately he is allergic to neopreme and we had to wait forever between the two doctors to get approval for a short brace. All in all, it took seven hours for all this.

Now he needs to go see our orthopedic surgeon next week. Until then, he is in his new $400 brace. Yes we had to pay the full amount.

ouch ouch ouch

well - there is not much you can do right now-- keep him off it as much as possible.... Surgery is no fun, and it doesn't "fix" everything -- then comes therapy... been there - done that...

Hope he has some sit down hobbies -- teach him to bead????? LOL Cheryl last semester of lawschool! yipee! DRAGON BEADS Flameworked beads and glass

Thanks. We finally got info from the doc and it looks like surgery. We'll know tomorrow when he goes to see the surgeon in person. (sigh)

And his mom is coming tomorrow and the house is not up to white glove inspection. I'm cleaning closets, reorganizing everything and it's a mess.

If his Mom needs it in white glove condition, while there's a medical emergency, tell her she's welcome to have a go at it. Give her free rein in the living room and kitchen, or some such place she can't hurt. Of course, if you say it you have to mean it. But what the hell, why not. My ex's mother used to just itch to clean when she was at our place. After about 10 years I finally figured out she really wanted to do it, and that it was not (or not quite) a judgement against me.

It's okay. She won't care, though you might. It's not important. (Besides...you're leaving for Tierra del Fuego soon, right? haw!) I'm sorry about your DH's knee, though, sheez. The poor, poor guy. ~~ Sooz

Yeah -- if she needs this, she needs something else, too. (Regular doses of valium.) ~~ Sooz

Amen Sooz! Dan has asked her for years to lighten up, but it hasn't happened yet. He told her today that the house wasn't going to be perfect. She asked if she needed to postpone the trip. Geez!
