Peyote Watchband Questions

Citizen makes an "Ecco" line of watches that requires neither a battery or winding. It kind of winds itself on the movement of the wearer.

Probably wouldn't be cheap to get one of those and discard the band, tho'. Just a thought.

Diana,

Try thinking of a different approach entirely, how about a necklace pendant or a pin? I can't wear battery-powered watches of any kind, so I wear a pendant watch on a cord. I'd love to find an old-fashioned pin-on watch that winds up, I haven't had a chance to really look for one but they're pretty common for nurses and the like.

That might solve your DIL's problem.

Those are some of the other options I was playing with, necklace or brooch type. I think tho, what I will do, is buy a watch of reasonable quality, make sure the battery is new, and let the chips fall where they may. Then, in 10 years if the battery dies then I get to make her another band. Thanks Su Di

Has anyone mentioned painting the back of the watch with clear nail polish? (or any color - doesn't matter, it'll be on the back) My dad had to do this with all his watchs or he broke out in a rash (FWIW - he had the self winding watches and never had a bit of problem with them)
