Review: beadwork Oct-Nov 2004

I was not disappointed with this issue. Lots of designs, some GREAT bracelet patterns, including one herringbone design that made me think of Kathy N-V. Sooz, they have a design for an autumnal tiara! Worth the $5.99.

Same here, Linda. I especially enjoyed viewing the "Challenge" - I liked the lampwork flowers. And the Yukon bracelet was pretty cool, too. I've got a brass bracelet blank that's just dying for that design. :)

I got mine ages ago and haven't had a chance to read it! Too much going on, sigh.

Me too. But I made the mistake of subscribing to "Bead Style." Man, does that magazine suck.

It's all the easiest projects imaginable, and even those are dumbed down: telling people to flatten a crimp with regular pliers instead of a real crimping plier, promoting crappy base metal stuff, and totally incorrect directions for making a square knot. Arrrgh - don't they know how hard it is to unlearn bad habits?

It's one magazine I don't plan to renew at all. Beadwork is my current favorite, along with Belle Armoire. I'll probably let my Wire Artist magazine lapse as well, since my wirework stinks, and sure isn't getting any better, no matter how much I try.

Can't wait to see it. Been in the stores a couple of weeks...in my house...zero.

This is one mag I will not be renewing my subscription to. Historically, it's on the stands well before I get mine. And everytime I write to them, they say ...soon, soon.
