I've seen these woven necklaces where you have the big focal and then it splits to make the necklace. Just a quick google, and this is the kind of thing I mean:

Do you have to have a really big loom or can you slide your piece down as you work on it?Obviously, I know nothing about looms, but I'm thinking about it.
