SWAP - Beaded wands

You don't need to do seed beads. Your beads on a rod with a nut on each side would be magical.

Actually, Arondelle, I think most people here are NOT lampworker. At most, I think a third are.

I probably think of a wand as a "speaking stick", but it could also be a magic fairy wand, a scepter, etc. Actually, I think your description was perfect, "a short, decorated, stick-like object".

[shameless plug for a favorite vendor] I go to for prisms. She has a whole collection of medium to huge crystals in almost any shape you can think of, all at phenominal prices. And, they're all genuine Swarovski with the laser-engraved logo in them. [/shameless plug] I have a ton of prisms hanging from a "tree" in front of my balcony door. On winter mornings, they throw a bazillion rainbows 'round the room, like an old Joni Mitchell song...
