Swaro Pearl Torture Test Results

Okay... so I soaked one of the new Swaro glass pearls in a commercial jewelry cleaner for 4 days. I rinsed it off, dried it, and took a very close look at the coating. There was no change: none to the luminescence of the glass pearl, no bubbles under the skin, peeling, etc.

After picking around the bead hole,(using my fingernail), a little bit of the coating around the hole did come off. After some *very hard picking in an attempt to get the entire coating off the pearl, some pieces did come off (showing an opaque white glass ball like a Druk inside), but it was very hard work trying to get the skin off.

All told, I am positive these glass pearls will hold up, whether it's through wear over the years or by cleaning/soaking the jewelry made with them. Rating: 2 Thumbs up. :D

Wonderful, thank you for posting the results! Given the rough treatment, it doesn't seem like the occasional dunk in a cleaner would do any damage.

Having done a side-by-side comparison of Sw. to other grades of glass pearls, I am not in the least surprised. Kinda like comparing gold filled to gold plated, IMO.
