The Girls - Rasmussen Class Day2

Nov 25, 2003 12 Replies

Here's "The Girls" from my 2nd workshop day. They have their problems but honestly, if someone had told me a week ago I could even do something THIS close, I'd have laughed.

They look great! I know I'd never make it beyond the 'amoeba blob' stage. I used to love watching the glass figure makers at the fairs when I was a kid. It looked like so much fun!

Karen those look great, and your proportions are decent! Being new here, I know nothing about you, are you an artist (pencil etc)? I think so because many people will have problems w proportions when they first go to 3d. D

Ohhh David you've made my day!!!

Actually I can't draw worth a damn. It kills me because my mom is a very talented artist (oils and watercolor) and one of my boyfriends in college was quite good. Funny thing, though, I could mix colors better than he could. LOL

Something about 3D works better for me. I can make a glass bicone far easier than I could draw it. Even my stick figures are pathetic. Sad, very sad. ;-)

I've promised myself (and Bill) that I would make a figure every day. I guess I should hit the torch soon (but it's cooold out there!)

Thank you again David.

Thanks Kalera and everyone else! I actually got up the nerve to buy a sketch pad and a "how to draw human figures" simple book. Bill insists you have to sketch. LOL My stick figures even look sucky. We shall see.

Ooooo. I love your "third figure" especially. It looks like this scultural/figural work is a natural for you. I loved life drawing. It became natural for me with little effort. I look forward to more of this work from you.
