I so adore you, Marisa... You have this way of reading my soul.
The heart did NOT want to be a heart. It wanted to be a sea form of some sort. It came from the Rama series I'm reading right now, I think. The surface techniques on the heart are something Robbin shared with me (Robert Mickelsen) and the possibilities are amazing. That heart is clear glass, by the way...
I ache to do sculptural work. I seriously doubt I'll be making beads two years from now. I'm planning on taking some classes at Corning this year, as well as the Pittsburgh Glass Center. I'm taking Loren Stump's class this year.
I'm going to fire up the torch in a little bit and try to completely let go of all my doubts and preconceptions. Thank you for this post. If you don't mind, I'd like to print it out and put it on my studio wall...

GROUP HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
*g*And the boro set is sold, as well! Talk about good motivation to get back to work instead of reading art books all day. LOL!

Love the female figure.

You're surface treatments are intricate, subtle, elegant. It's your strength.
The sculputure is bold and a very good exploration of form. The Goddess striding the earth. Very powerful stuff. Because you've released yourself from the basic constraints of the bead, you've been very succesful.
I can see where you're going with the puffy hollow form. Have you thought about exploring other forms in this genre? That curled end cries out to continue bending, spiralling, twisting! The heart shape is pretty, but I think you have an adventurous soul, you could take it a bit further. I'm think of the very long bead that I bought from you. With the surface treatement, it works beautifully. You have the ability to push the boundaries with success. I think the hollow form gives you an opportunity to branch out and discover your own shapes.
WOW

Love the sculptural piece Tink! Very good! I too hope to see more. :-)

Of course you can print it out for your wall! I'm glad it helped. I believe that a critique should draw out the potential of an artist, never, ever squash it.
I can see you becoming more sculputural, even with your beads. You've shown glimpses of this for some time now and I will watch your development with pleasure. It gives me goosebumps to see someone excited by their work, as you clearly are.
Um....I am not so sure I would want a bead that tinkles! LOL!
hehehehhehe.

OH MY LORD. You know the one I mean... the guy who loves wine and passion and running naked through the forest...
Those evoke LUST. Beautiful! I love the sensuality of your work. I'm talking about the beads, not the naked lady, though that's stunning too!

T> Threw a quick and dirty page up to show you what I've been doing.
Uh, yeah, I have enough little tinkling things in the house already...
(does it come with diapers?)

What a spectacular compliment! Lust and sensuality are pretty fundamental things in my life, and I'm glad my work reflects the fact.
Thank you, Kalera!!!
