Invented the mini skirt and I know that because my father was a hairdresser for her shows in London and New York. He basically created what was then known as the Shag haircut. I think I was the only one who didn't have that style! He only let me have long, straight, strawberry blonde hair, which I still have!

Gonna lose it again soon...bah.

Nothing new until The Never-Ending Russian Rooftops (Thea Gouverneur's "St Petersburg -") is finished. And some time around mid-year I'll start on TW's "Carousel" on Picture This Plus' "Carnival" Lugana 25. Between those two pieces is anyone's guess, though I'm serious considering stitching the adaptation I made of a design I found online, as well as Cross-Eyed Cricket's "Why Is It" sampler.

Buy the blocked cloth and either sew the printed parts together , or applique some nice ribbons over the white patches. mirjam

I saw that! I remember loving that when I was a teen. Lily Pulitzer is back too; those are great colors for me even if the prints a tad larger than I wear now.

Yes, they do - there was bunch at BJ's last week - all flannel, but in the spring, the light cottons should return.

You know you might have to shop for me??? I like the light cotton ones, flannel is too warm now I live here. My heating is off but the surrounding condos are all on full blast making mine warmer than I would wish. I have to resort to opening a window every so often in self defence. I feel very badly doing that, but I can't take this heat.

Even at Laura Ashley on Regent Street in London, UK they told me, no more. However, Ashley too has closed even the original factory in Wales and gone off shore. That happened after she died and her husband took over. It staggered for a bit but I guess he finally chose a buyer who knew her stuff.

I bought fabric in the UK in the early 80s to do bedroom curtains, cover a chair, make a dust ruffle etc and imagine my chagrine when I had not quite enough fabric to finish one set of drapes and ordered from Montreal, cheaper than in the UK ???

Happily!

Now - I'm sleeping in a light, but long, cotton gown because of night sweats! I'll buy extra for me!

I shop in BJ's too so if I see anything you'll have it. As a matter of fact, I've been told they're planning to put a BJ's right next to my preferred stupidmarket.

Cheryl, try taking Estrosoy, or the BJ's equivalent. It has completely eliminated my night sweats altogether. I use the extra strength with, I think, 85mg of phytoestrogens. Not estrogen at all, but the receptors are fooled in the body because the plant estrogens fit into the receptors, so your both THINKS it's getting estrogen.

I was thinking of trying soy again; after everyone is out of the house.

I used to suffer from them, but they will pass. Nasty, nasty things. I often resorted to standing outside in snow to try and recover. I thought the ad where the woman went out in a blizzard in her shorts to clean the snow of the a/c unit was hilarious, so true.
