Good Morning from CT, Mirjam. I'm listening to Baroque music on NPR and reading the morning papers here on my computer. For me, it's a sort of Holiday - the Major League Baseball season starts today. It's windy and sunny here and the flowers are just beginning to peep through. Should be a good day for yard work...........

I woke to fresh snow, and it is very slippery outside. I will be taking extra care driving to church this morning. This afternoon, I am re-organizing my bedroom, and tonight I will be marking papers. I can't see much knitting time for me today. :-(

Good Sunday morning to you all:>) I thought I'd jump in this am to catch-up a bit & bring you up to date here as well.

I started yet another new job yesterday & I'm very relieved!:>) While the other job was easy & the people there were great, I found it very boring & uncreative. There was starting to be almost a feeling of dread when it was time to go. So I stopped at a shop in the mall that had called me for an interview & they hired me on the spot! It's the Children's Place. Selling children's clothing & accessories. What a difference actually speaking with people without a script &seeing them face to face. I had forgotten how much I liked this kind of hands on thing:>)

I'm pretty sure my BP is down already! This is just PT as well, so I'll still have lots of time for my GB's & hobbies. Much more practical for me I think:>)

Well, I'm off to do something around here, not sure what. It is very chilly & overcast out today , there is only a 30% chance of rain today, but in my books there's always 50% (it's either going to or not) 2 choices=50/50 :>)

Sorry about all the snow there Katherine:>( Are you having a record year there? We've had hardly any here this year. I can't help but think that water is going to be a real problem this year, unless we get a ton of rain this Spring

Have a great day all, I'm outta here:>) Trish

Good morning everyone. Turned my watch forward again (did it a week ago in Italy) and am wondering when I will get totally adjusted to time change. I am still nodding off in the evening as a result of the trip.

I had an interesting day yesterday. A group I belong to had a brunch honoring selected high school girls for their accomplishments in science, math and technology. They in turn chose a teacher to honor who had been an inspiration to them. While most selected someone who had taught them in high school, one reached back to her first grade teacher and wrote a beautiful letter honoring her. (A few moist eyes around the room) We have been honoring high school girls every year for many years - not always the same fields of interest - and this year one of the teachers was a person who we had honored when she was a student seven years ago. That was interesting. (She had been honored for her accomplishments in music and now is a math teacher.)

I knit yesterday and watched the basketball tournament games. I worked a while on the Meadow Flowers shawl and then started a pair of socks in a tencel/merino mix for me.

Good Morning everyone

Yes time change means I am up and about a little earlier than normal if I thought about the old time.

Today DH and I are heading out for a good walk through the Toronto Zoo so have to get camera ready.

Have a good day.

Take care Darlene in Toronto

No I didn't - is she a musician, or a teacher or what?? I love the quiet of a Sunday Morning here as I get up early and instead of the daily news, etc. NPR plays strictly Baroque music for several hours starting at 6AM. I am a church choir/community chorus singer going back to school days when I got hooked in Glee Club. I'm an alto and love music of almost all kinds except 'heavy metal' and 'rap' Joan

Having to send you some warm sunshine and spring flowers Katherine.

When we flew home, right from Southern Ontario, over the great lakes and parts of the Northern States, there was nothing but snow and ice, with here and there bits of lovely brown colours of plowed farmers fields, with snowy edges. Slow brown muddy rivers meandering from North to South and East to West and reversed. What a great country we live in and nice to sit in a warm airplane and just have to fly over all that snow and Ice. Brrrrr cold.

What a nice idea, I am sure teacher are often forgotten and there are some many kids flowing through their years of teaching. Interesting the Tencel Merino mix. I was wondering if the wool would wear thin on the strong tencel. Must be a new and in my mind unusual combination.

Here is another Baroque groupie.....LOL I am looking for a CD of Suzie LeBlanc, and friends. Handel's love duets. So far I have not found it yet. I heard and saw this group from Montreal, on a fundraising TV programme. They were fabulous.

I will let you know how it wears when I get them done and on my feet. It feels and looks wonderful - but you have a point aboout the differences in the fibers. I got it at the Madrona Fiber Arts market place and am just now getting it on my needles. Judy

Always fun to try something new. I am eager to play with the silk recycled threads I got at Romni Wool in Toronto. Fun to spin with as well as put it into weaving.

Great to hear, Trish. It is always important to be happy in your job, isn't it?

Not really a record, but certainly more than last year.

I am heading overseas, with a group of sixteen students. We are going to the UK, France, and Germany. We leave on April 12, and get home again on April

  1. It will be a flying visit, but should be fabulous. The kids are almost mad with excitement.

Wow that sounds great, you will love it. Is this a singing tour, or a school event. Lucky girl.

It's so nice that high school students are able to go abroad. My son was able to travel a bit through the United Kingdom after high school graduation. Now he is planning a semester of study abroad for college. He has chosen to go to Ghana in August. He has never followed the common path but always wants to experience different lifestyles. Neither, actually. We just decided that it would be a good idea to try this. It is a pilot project, and if it works out, they will likely try it again next year. However, getting a teacher to go with them might not be that easy. There is a lot of work in organizing a trip like this. But I am really looking forward to it.
