A poll of sorts - who stitches for holidays

You know - Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Halloween?

I don't, though there as been a few Thanksgiving ones that have tempted me.

No, although I have a few I have done - a Santa on skates and a couple of ornaments. I do have a Halloween one in my stash, but it could just as easily just be a cool old house.

I don't have storage room for holiday decorations now but if I had little kids who would love it I might do it.

I used to have embroidered napkins that were schlepped out for Thanksgiving, but that's all.

not me but I have a friend who has an extensive collection of Halloween and Christmas pieces. Matter of fact, we had a meeting at her house last week and as usual, we oooooooooooooooohed and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahed over her treasures. The centerpiece on the dining room table was a collection of mismatched eyeballs.

I generally don't, either, unless it's a gift for someone and then I'll probably pick something that is less one day oriented but more seasonal in nature. I'll occasionally do a small Christmas ornament but try to stitch something wintery rather than Christmasy.

I can't see me spending that much time stitching something that will be viewed/used just once a year. There are a few holiday themed patterns which have tempted me and I'll probably stitch them anyway, but perhaps with some modifications. There are a few exceptions to even that rule.

Cheers,

oops ... didn't mean to convey the impression the eyeballs were stitcheries ... they were candies and resin or clay thingies. Carol was an interior decorator with a very whimsical bent which is odd for this oh so conservative, traditional part of the world.

Agree - I knew a gal who worked on and off for three yrs on an angel ndlpt stocking, then gave up and destroyed it. I would've finished it, but then - I didn't really want it either and had no one I wanted to gift it to..

Have you worked on that cat at all? Did you contact Glorafilia for the info or locate that magazine?
