I noticed Library Journal's review does not recommend this book. :)

In poking around on your link above, I went further down the page and saw something that said, "Statistically Improbable Phrases". If you click on one of those phrases, it will give you a list of other books that have that phrase in them. Quite an interesting list when I clicked on "warp threads"!

That's too bad - it does look a bit "scholarly" for light reading.

That was interesting, as was the one on weft threads.

The Library Journal review mentions The Subversive Stitch, by Rozsika Parker. This is well worth reading. It served to crystallise my arguments against those artsy people who look down their noses at "craft".

I am now wondering about ILL for both books.

I found The Subversive Stitch at the University Library and had to do an ILL to get it but it was worth the wait. Just my 2 cents. Jeanine in Canada
