Anyone finish their holiday stitching yet?

I only need to make a barette for my Mom, but I haven't even decided on a color scheme yet. Luckily they only take an hour or two to make, so there's still a chance. It's in my to do list during my vacation.

I have one item to do the finishing on and one is 50% done. I might just make it!

I've only got one thing. A Dolly Mama that's ready for a frame; that I made for a friend as a combination Birthday/Chanukka/Christmas gift.

I'm only counting one thing as holiday stitching and it's stitched and needs finishing.

I did "When did my wild oats become shredded wheat." She'll put it up in her computer corner.

I added a couple of geometric lines on each side to make it fit into a standard size 8" x 10" frame. I just didn't think it was "classy" enough to warrant a custom frame.

I have to frame the Long Dog sampler, but yup, I'm done, except for stitching for me!

I've finished three ornaments altogether, and four more are in the ornamentifying process (need trim applied), two more are stitched and needs to be ornamentified, and one more is still being stitched. The one in progress is the Eiffel tower from this year's JCS, and I noticed last night that I'd miscounted, so it'll be "the Leaning Tower of Paris" instead (if anyone notices).

I only just remembered a piece I've finished stitching that I planned to make into a pillow for DD, so I'll still have to do that (glad I remembered!)- thanks for the prompt! She and her DBF have just bought a house (moving in January) so she'll have more room for decorative things than her now-full apartment! And another stitched piece I may make into a box lid (and make a coordinating fabric-covered box) for DS's SO.

Oy, veh...I'd better get busy!!

Last night as I worked on ornaments, I was starting to plan which UFO I'd pick up on Christmas Day....

I have four completely finished and one about 70% stitched. I'm starting to find it hard to stick to it, though. I really want to work on something without red floss for a short bit. However, it's almost done!

I want to adapt the one that says "who are these kids and why are they calling me Mom" and change it to "who are these girls and why are they calling my Miss Theresa" for former GS co leader....

I haven't even started mine yet....I went to Virginia in November to visit my sister and got a chance to go to Scarlet Thread (loved the store) where I bought a Lizzie Kate Christmas kit that I really planned to do before the holidays..Well-- time is slipping away and it is still in the package so maybe it will be for next year.

I've been finishing a hanging and it has been painful. However I have the quilting and beading done, so all I have to do is stitch on the backing and do the beaded edge.

I think I've been 'working' on that thing for almost 10 years. Whew! Dora

Was Ellice there at the Scarlet Thread the day you were there? Red hair, hard to miss...LOL.

There's a wonderful variety of things stuffed into that small space.

Let us know if you're visiting this way again!

VBS -- I have the first two letters of the Winter Bellpull done and that's it! Of course, the spot where I will hang it is covered up by a big canvas piece with a Santa painted on it (Christmas gift from one of my stitching buddies here in Magnoliaville). I had just a few other things for the holidays that I DID stitch up during the summer so all I have to do is finish them -- very easy and quick. I can get that finished in a few hours now that I have all the decorating done! I am about to go in and pin baste a lap quilt I am making for someone in the local nursing home. I got the name from the Angel Tree at my monthly luncheon. I got some "orphan" blocks from two of the ladies in my Needlework Group so that made it a bit easier. Once that is finished, I have to make the SMDGD's Christmas dress. She picked out some darling black fabric with KITTIES on it :-). They are in Christmas stockings with some pretty gold cording and there's small holiday motifs on the fabric also -- candy canes or holly or something. I think I will make the bodice out of the red Christmas plaid I have leftover from making Santa's vest last month. VBS again. I'm beginning to think that the only time I will have nothing to do just before Christmas is when I am so old and decrepit, I will be in the old folks home -- LOL! I plan on taking the Winter Bellpull with me on the cruise early next month. DH is taking me on a cruise to the Bahama's and I will get to swim with the dolphins for my b-day!!! Now THAT is something to look forward to :-). CiaoMeow >^;;^<
