Unfortunately there was just a big show in June of Aemilia Ars which is needlework which Bologna and the surrounding area is famous for. There is a new book out in english and italian with instructions for how to make a border in this amazing needlework, it's called "Un Bordo Aemilia Ars", literally: an Aemilia Ars border. Priced at 25 euros, the instructions and photos seem well done. (I ordered it)
