CATS - Stitching Festival

Anyone out there who attended the CAT - Stitching Festival in Burbank, CA earlier this month?????

I am curious as to how you enjoyed this year's classes, as I have to start deciding which classes to take and my list is loooong!!!

Happy Stitching everyone!

I didn't go in California but am planning on attending the Nashville show with Tia Mary. I was preparing my registration form today and noticed that some of the classes I want overlap. I'm definitely pouting about that!!

I hear CATS has changed its name . . .

Also, will it still be in Riverside? Obviously, I've missed it at Burbank. DRATS!!

Those of you who know me ... you know I buy but I don't stitch ... I look and enjoy. LOL

Gentle as you go, Marny

How nice to see your post, Marny; it seems as if it has been a very long time since I saw your name.

Welcome back.

I don't believe it will be in Riverside this year. It is going to be in Santa Clara, CA later this year and I think that is the only other west coast locale.

As far as the name, a couple of years ago, they started using "The Stitching Festival", but it seems they still use CATS. They use both names and I have to guess it's because of the CATS name recognition. They still call their newsletter Paw Prints, but changed their website.

I've never taken any classes, because they never seem to offer anything I'm interested in here on the West Coast. Darn it! Small marketplace--something like 22 vendors, not all of whom were XS. Among the missing were Zweigart and Cross My Heart. But Silver Lining was there, and Marc had been giving Riverside a miss for quite some time! New vendors were Sweetheart Tree and Picture This Plus, and welcome! They have a new name for the MITIs, but everyone's still calling them MITIs, the new name is so memorable. Not much seating outside the marketplace, unlike the Riverside venue, which had lots of seating, lots of great light, and lots of big tables for sharing of projects and hauls. No easily accessible food of any kind, let alone reasonably priced. No restaurants close by, and a very pricey one, I'm told, in the hotel. Never did make it over to the stitching lounge, so can't comment on that. Darla Sacred cows make great hamburgers. Picture Trail Gallery:

I've only been to the first one. Couldn't make it last year for $$ reasons, and can't make this year because we're going to Denver for a wedding reception, and that'll suck up all the available vacation time and disposable income. But I'd highly recommend it!! Darla Sacred cows make great hamburgers. Picture Trail Gallery:
