Covering a frame with fabric

Jun 25, 2006 1 Replies

I haven't been able to find a frame I like so my framer has made a plain wooden frame and I plan to cover it with fabric.

Has anyone any hints before I start cutting and gluing ?

Thanks

Anne

Depending on your fabric, if it's likely to shrink significantly if washed, you'll want to consider pre-shrinking it. While the glue will hold the fabric against the wood, it won't keep it from shrinking away from edges as it dries. Also, if you're using a stripe or pattern, play with your fabric on the miters of the frame to get the look just right!
