I am so glad it worked for you. Most times, I find, is that things discolor not from real DIRT, but the invisible things in the air, and just "sitting" there.
NOW, we want to see a picture of the finished project!!

I agree with you Dust and humidity can settle in and frighten us that things discolored,,,, mirjam
Absolutely, as soon as I finish it I will put up a picture of it. When that will be is an entirely different story!
