How about another stitch-a-long everyone?

Some other really interesting designs, in kits on canvas or felt are from Jennifer Pudney, who I believe is in New Zealand. Here's a link to one of her pages - her kits are nice, and the designs quite fun - but a definite personal taste thing.

Drool.....how to choose among all the wonderful kits.

I was having trouble finding something that I could get excited about. Not now.

I thought so--Textile Heritage. I hadn't seen the Wee Hieland Coo pocket---just the thing for my iPod, and I could play "Hair in my Eyes like a Highland Steer" by Corb Lund!

LOL - I know this "I want" feeling. I fell in love with these kits - they're so quirky and fun, plus the kits are just nice.

Nancy, I think a fair amount of LNS carry the Textile heritage kits - or at least some of them. I don't know if Sara Leigh still has any now that she's only via web or appointment - but we did have a bunch in the shop. You can try her link from the website and ask.

may still have some. But, I'm sure there are others around. The USdistributor is pretty active and at all the markets. Ellice

Excellent! I have the vague feeling that I have it in my stash somewhere. It's just too cute, plus you can say "Wee Hieland Coo" and think of Hamish MacBeth or something of that ilk.

I need very litte if any excuse to think about Hamish McBeth as portrayed by Robert Carlyle.

They seem to be calling my name too, but why would I need one and where would I put it? What a dilemma.

I'll try searching after vacation. I did discover Clare's Celtic Cornicopia online and they have many of the kits. My problem in Pgh is my 2 favorite LNS closed and I'm not sure what the ones on the other side of town carry. Between all the road construction and G-20 getting around here is....well, not fun. The only "nearby" LNS is purely needlepoint.

usually has several of the Textile Heritage kits in stock. They're beautiful, but pricey. I did the Celtic knotwork bookmark. Though the projects appear quick and simple, it didn't go as quickly as I'd imagined (but what ever does? ) I think the aida supplied is 18 count, in case that matters to anyone.

The aida supplied is not your average stiff aida. It is so soft and supple and pleasant to work with. And for "little" projects, the level of detail is amazing. I did one, many moons ago, that had a total of three stitches in one color (the center of the flower). If the designer had left it all one shade of yellow, it would have worked, but with the second shade, it popped and looked more realistic.
