How do you store your pearl/perle cottons?

I tried re-twisting the skeins, but that doesn't seem to hold? Just bag them like I do my other skeins?

I've just started moving the lingerie chest I'm (attempting) to store my stash in to my bedroom so I can use it's current spot for a sewing machine table.

I've resisted the urge to make sweet labels for all the boxes and will be a tad more utilitarian and use blank address labels. I had thought about backstitching them all!

Hi Cheryl

Don't laugh at this, it works pretty darn good!

I had hundreds of those little white plastic wedding cake plates left over about 25 years ago. They are small, about the diameter of a drink coaster. Fairly rigid white plastic, not styrofoam, but disposable.

I would take two of these and glue them together bottom to bottom. This formed like a reel I could wind this type of floss on. Even nicer is I could fit about 20 of these reels inside of the old Enfamil baby formula cans.

Unopened packages could be layed in the hollow outside of each reel and held to the plate with a piece of tape over the label.

Hi Cheryl

I got mine from a papergoods store named Paper Warehouse, but have seen them at several stores that supply disposable food serving products.

They are thin white plastic, often used for bowls, plates and water cups. The smaller diameter plates are usually only stocked by stores that deal heavily in wedding reception supplies. They are the perfect size for those little pieces of cake served at weddings.
