Especially love the look of the Hemstitch. I want to do Pulled Work but it's not in my carpetbag of talents (been trying for a long time) not in the cards for me!

It's helpful to draw it out on graph paper. You find a rhythm that way. There are simpler patterns, as well. Don't try doing a real embroidery. Just do scraps. Once you do a few, you'll begin to get your bearings. I struggled with it, as well. Now I have no problems. It is such satisfying work.
I'm happy to hear you love hand sewing and the daintier stitches. Pin stitching is also pretty. Try making tucks with withdrawn threads. Turns out so beautiful. Have you done any shadow work?
