Joy and sadness

It's been a rough several months -- Since mid-September, I had sinus infections from heck; the meds that finally knocked out the infections were almost worse than the disease as the side effects kept me almost totally housebound Being under house arrest enabled me to make many, many, many, many purses as gifts for the ladies in my son's wedding party and assorted relatives and friends:

would've been more but 10 days before the wedding which took place on December 10th, my mother passed away. I went to NJ for the funeral and abbreviated shiva (Jewish period of mourning) and then came home to clean and cook because everyone agreed that the wedding was a must attend event despite our mourning.

Challenges now are not to worry too much about my almost 92 year old father who lives in south Florida and who, for the most part, seems to be able to care for himself, rein in my must-be-in-control sister or learn to ignore her, and settle down enough to stitch.

Wow, Anne! You were busy! What lovely gifts the purses will make. I see you used, as the focal point, your lovely lady, with different embroidery! Nice job!

I'm sorry for your troubles and for your loss, and glad that you went ahead with the wedding as planned.

I took advantage of the link you posted to wander through the pictures of your work on your site. You do such interesting things, Anne! I really love looking at your work. I'm sure it's even better in person where one can appreciate the textures as well.

I'm sorry to hear your fall was so awful, health-wise. Meds can be a blessing and a curse, that's for sure. It's great that you go so much stitching in tho, at least something good can come of us being laid low and couch bound!

Family stuff is always challenging, but it sounds like you have a good idea of how to cope with them. Ignore the worst of it and stitch for stress relief!

Hope that the new year brings better things!

Mazal Tov to the Bride and Groom. The ladies of the wedding party are some of the very luckiest I know. The purses are beautiful and I'm sure will be loved by all.

I'm sorry about your mother, but I'm glad you are handling it so well and using your downtime for such good things.

You're work is delightful and such fun.

I was looking at your website and recognized a store I love - Mamaw's Thimble. I visit it every time I go to Tennessee to see Mom (who is also a member of the EGA group there), and never manage to leave without laying down some serious $$$. I adore Vivan's fabric collection!

I urge anyone who likes making things out of cloth to go there when anywhere near Knoxville, TN.
