LNS in DC

Anybody know of an LNS in Wasington DC? I checked Hoffman's website & found none listed. Thanks!

There are several LNS in the Metro DC area. Check this website, which has links or directions to about all of them:

The site is the association of retailers, etc in this area. Depending on what your interest mainly is, we locals can likely give you some best choices. Also, where will you be staying?

A couple of these are best for NP - as in Needlewoman East in Falls Church (and she has tons of threads & yarns of all kinds), and a lot of fabric, some XS, or the Point of It All which is actually in DC. For XS - almost all of the others have similar stock - some with more threads vs more charts, etc. Relative to where you're going to be - we all have our favorites, and what you're interested in.

CCS - personally, I tend to The Hang-Up in Sterling (used to work there) which has some NP, lots of XS, CT & an antique needlework boutique & artsy stuff (frames, yard art) and to the Scarlet Thread I(has lots of charts, threads, and crewel stuff) in Vienna. But, the others are all nice - Caryn lives near Old Town Needlecrafts in Manassas - they have quilting, knitting and XS,CT. In Stitches in Alexandria has some knitting, XS, NP. Stitching Pretty is in Laurel - that's the home of Michelle Ink charts - she also does framing, has a good selection of XS, threads, etc. The Stitching Post is in Baltimore, and has tons of XS, charts, fabric. Stitcher's Stash is in Old Fairfax, where the Scarlet Thread used to be (changed owners and locations). I haven't been in a while.

Anyhow, good luck - if you have other questions, please ask. The link will help.

When are you going to be in the DC area? If it is any time this month you can combine a great needlework exhibition with a visit to In Stitches. Woodlawn Plantation has a show every year for the entire month of March and there is stitching of every kind displayed. They are closed on Mondays so plan accordingly if you can. The entrance to the plantation is on Route 1, In Stitches is just up the road from there in a small shopping center called Pear Tree Village. Beverly B

Thanks a bunch!! That helps tremendously!

I'm staying near Georgetown - Washington Circle, and I won't have a car. Are any of the LNSs outside DC easily accessible by metro, or even a short taxi ride?

The Needlewoman East is near the West Falls Church Metro stop, which would be a good 15-20 min walk, or about a $5 taxi ride - but worth it. The Point of It All, in DC - IIRC - has opened a shop in Georgetown Park - which is an easy taxi ride from Washington Circle - or a 20-30 min walk. But, I'd check first - that is a heavily NP slanted, and kinda pricey shop - but nice.
