Long Dog Sampler--Happy Dance!

Last night I put the last stitches into Long Dog Sampler's St Sylvestre.

I did it on 25 ct black lugana, mostly because my LNS didn't have a piece in 28 ct big enough.

It's large, but so striking, even Dude liked it, and he usually just mumbles about my stitching stuff! lol

Yahoo! I'm still thinking of working out a color scheme for that one, but yours looks great. I haven't gone near a LD project in days now (that frog ya know), so I guess I'll just have to dance with you! Tegan

Caryn, Loved your album of finished projects. I generally do samplers and smaller projects but seeing all the large complex projects you and the others in the group are finishing I'm inspired to start something larger. I also knit so I must ask you what stitch you used for the border on the Aran sweater. I love the contrast of the cables with the lacy edge. It won't do for the Aran I'm knitting for my husband, but now I want one like that for me. And I love your wool story.

Um....wow....trying to recall....It might have been moss stitch...was a combination of increases and decreases as I recall. That part of the sweater was a L O N G time ago.

Email me, to remind me to look up the pattern? It's from a McCalls Needlework from roughly 10 or 11 yrs ago.

That is so neat - let me know if it needs a new home! LOL

There is one Long Dog Sampler on my wish list that I would stitch monotone, but would use a wildly hued hand dyed fabric for just to get a little color in!

ROFL!

I took it with me to LNS that sells Long Dog Sampler charts, the one that has "the" model of Bagatelle on display currently.

The clerk wisked it from my fingers and ran to the back to show her coworkers! Was a bit worried it was not coming home! rofl

They paid me a lovely compliment, in addition to the ooo's and ahh's over the front, they told me I should display it so both sides could so, because my back was "perfect."

Always so nice to hear! lol
