Mahjong tile patterns?

Oh wise ones: I'm asking on behalf of a librarian who hasn't had luck turning up much useful for her patron.

Patron is looking for cross stitch, needlepoint or beading charts for mahjong tiles -- free or pay for it. She'd like to do some bead embroidery of the tiles for Christmas, and is coming up empty. Does anyone remember seeing anything like this?

I've mentioned the old "clear plastic grid taped over a photo" trick, and a couple of photo conversion programs I've found at sourceforge as possible options, but she'd really prefer already made charts.

If I may beg further indulgence, I'm not sure I get all the posts here at RCTN in a timely fashion. If you know of charts, would you also consider emailing me directly? I'm kay (at) fern (dot) com

Thanks so much.

Better late than never - but there is a company which has oriental design charts, and I know some of them are Mah Jong tiles. Also, there are a good amount of painted canvas designs of them around. You just have to do some googling & look at various designers.

JP Designs - this link is them at Needlenook of LaJolla:

link below on Lani's site goes to a lot of designers, many of whom haveoriental designs. There is also a direct link to JP Designs on this page. It's a good place to look. Chances are JP, Danji, Melissa Shirley,Associated, Leigh Designs are the best places to look for the tiles, andother oriental styles.

can look on the Hoffman distributing site - IIRC we used to buy the XScharts from a company that was repped by them. All oriental designs. Good luck.
