Needle storage and use

I'm afraid the Shop List on the site is woefully out of date. Too many of those shops have closed their doors. Several others have converted to web-only and closed their B&M stores.

I may have to go against my earlier policy of wholesale-only (in order to support the LNSs of the world) and start offering them directly to the public.

Until then, the only thing I can suggest is to try clicking on the Shop List links until you hit a working shop.

The needle size I use depends on thread size and fabric. I never look at the recommended size, so I have no idea if I use it or not :)

My prefernce is Lance #26.

I've always wanted to tell you about the reception your "Calling QC" received from the friend I stitched it for. Charles absolutely adored it, and it (along with several other pieces I've stitched) hangs in their motorhome. I, of course, stitched his call letters on it. He was so tickled that the beads were the Morse code.

Funny story about that motorhome. Grace Ann is one of the two people who got me started in cross stitch. When anybody new sees the stitched pieces on the walls, they will comment to her, "Oh, you stitch". She has to sheepishly admit that while she stitches, five of the seven pieces on display were stitched by me. I don't mind - I don't have any room left on my walls. ;)

Yep. For the longest time, the only stitchery displayed in my house was gifts. (One of my friends made a whole slew of guest towels for me, and her daughter stitched a couple of minis.)

I'm finally starting to inherit pieces back so that I can put them on my own walls.
