New LNS, Colonial Needleworks, Bedford NH

I went there on Friday for their Grand Opening. Oh my, my paycheck is in trouble now! Poor Bobbie V (Queen City Stitcher) has it worse - it shares the building where she wrestles wedding gowns. She and I browsed together; I showed admirable restraint. I won't tell you how close Bobbie is to filling her frequent shopper card.

It is lovely - not too crowded yet, lots of variety - cutesy, folksy, and elegant. Nice range of designers, Just Nan, Lizzie Kate, Lorrie Birningham, Monsterbubbles, Elizabeth's Designs and some new to me names - Knotted Tree and Needle and Fred. Full DMC line (kinda pricey @.65 each, but if it's just one or two that I am missing, I'd be likely to nab them there), GAST, WDW and Cresent. Plus Rainbow Gallery, silks and a ton of needlepoint yarns. There is punch needle and needlepoint and a nice line of accessories.

I got

a couple of WDW's that called to me. Salt Glaze and chartreuse Since I got there early, I got a goodie bag. In it was a free Elizabeth's designs chart (pumpkin), needles (John James), small pair of scissors, needle threader and floss away bags.

Enjoy ladies and gents ;)

Cheryl,

You know I had to finish my collection of GASTs. Plus I needed additional skeins for Dracolair's knotwork winter/snowflakes. I only bought one small chart a Sweetheart teenie. I did go through the LB baskets and charts (still working on the sweet Melissa set) and the are plenty of Victoria Sampler's (got to f-f-finish the ones I have FIRST) :-(

The shop has lots of room for expansion and there is a stitch and greet on Fridays. (Yeah!! I'll have Friday's off after thanksgiving). Meanwhile one of the girls I worked with (Debbie) picked up her first hardanger project, a SWH teenie. And another (Robin) wants to do counted cross stitch and asked me to mentor her.

All in all the best of luck to Sue on her new venture.

Bobbie V.

You bought Fred? I'm pleased he comes with his own needle so he doesn't need to borrow yours.
