OFF TOPIC - any experts on the Iowa tests

I am very interested in this topic too. I don't have faith in the tests, although I always tested very high and did poorly in school. Some people are just great at taking tests. Judy

School bored me to tears. I have have the attention span of a gnat unless I'm totally interested in something, and then I'm right there for as long as it takes, totally focused. School was always a means to an end.

I'd much rather have gone to a vocational school and learned how to be a craftsman. Carpentry or car mechanics or electrical...something with my hands.

On the other hand, I sure like knowing stuff. It's like exercise. Every day you get up and you dread it, but after it's all over, you're sure glad you did.

I'll bet that was a large part of the problem. It also turns out the word analysis and the reading comprehension tests were the day after the nightmares.

These scores were SO out of line with rest of the scores. The rest are in the top 25 percentile.

Thanks so much.

Cheryl
