LOL
What I loved was my then 6 yr old dd telling the world her mom had turned 40. And I mean the world, every stranger she met for at least a month! Gotta love our kids!

Let's see "jump up and touch every wall over the door when you pass through it" . Check "walk up to Mom and announce that she is short at least 5 times a day." Check
Hey, my 14 yo DS sounds just like yours Cheryl. Only he is a football player and wrestler not a hockey goalie. His favorite one is to use a different glass every time he gets a glass of milk, which is at least 5 times a day. This summer when he had to do dishes every other day by hand, I noticed a big decrease in the number of glasses used during the day.

Nah - his big one is touching the beams in the ceiling. I'll get worried if he starts going for the ones in the great room.

Mine told her class that I am "an old fart".
Cheryl
Gosh, I love that girl!

What a picture! I can just see you as a hostage!
Sue (who will be hostage to a quilt through the holidays, starting today, I think! It's pieced and basted, so just the machine quilting and binding left...the not-fun part, IMHO.)

Now I always warn people if I have a cold, I wish others would do the same! She`s a nurse, too! My doctor doesn`t want me to cough and I always get a bad cough with a cold. Moan, gripe, whine! Never mind - I have vitamin C and paracetamol coming out of my ears - it worked quite fast last time.
Thank goodness all the presents are wrapped and all the shopping done except for last minute fruit and vegetables.

So do I most of the time! It's worse because her teacher is young enough to be mine (assuming I had a child at 20 or 21). The mothers of several of my Brownies are in the same category.
Sigh, I feel old!

My tenant, K., was a student of mine several years ago. She used to come hang out in my office between classes. One day she informed me that I was old enough to be her mother. I was in my late thirties at the time and insisted "no way!" Turns out her mother (charming woman!) is just a year older than I. *sigh* And K. is now older than D. was when she had her, which makes D. and I both old enough to be grammas.
Gee, and you're older than I... *grin*

I don't dare ask him to wash the dishes - I'll end up with broken ones!
Cheryl
That's another male trait - do a job badly enough and you will not be asked to do it again!
My DH does the same thing and it drives me batty, I mean the dishwasher is right there next to the sink. Now.... I think he does it to bug me. Grrr....

Men! sometimes you just want to SCREAM!
Cheryl
Since the girl next door (who is 6 months younger than I) had her SECOND grandchild about the time DD was born, I know I am old enough to be a grandmother.

Our Brownies were raising funds by packing shopping at Marks and Spencer`s` chwckouts. Pity they weren`t in uniform, as I wondered what on earth was going on! LOL! Until I spotted the tiny collecting bucket, that is. I saw everything go past the till, and paid for it, then when I went to look it had vanished and all I saw was a middle aged lady with a small girl putting "My" shopping into bags!
We had a good laugh while we were sorting it out after I`d said, indignantly "Hey - that`s MINE!!!"
Christmas is not a good time not to be clear about such enterprises, as then your mind is usually on at least six things at once.

Our pet hate is being the one who has to open a fresh container of milk! Ours comes in a 2 litre plastic container with screw top, and a peel off foil seal underneath.
John always gets the breakfast, so I get a fiendish delight in putting the new, unopened container in the spot in the fridge just to hear him swear first thing in the morning! LOL! As I get the afternoon cuppa, he gets his own back quite often - it`s just a standing joke in our house. We both HATE having to open a new one. I have been known to drink the last drop before I go to bed, just to catch him out!

Bingo!
Or say "I don't know how" and then run off before you can be forced to learn. (Or, despite an IQ of 212, feign such severe mental defect that you are unable to learn.)
That's a favourite trick of my husband's ...... so if I tell him it's his turn to do supper, his excuse is *oh you'd never be able to eat anything I cooked and we'd both starve* ..... so my answer to that is *then if you don't want to try and cook and I don't feel like it, gee, I guess we'll have to eat out* ..... like tonight. :-))

Well, the first few times, he had to come back and redo them, but after he figured out that I was serious about him learning how to do the dishes, he did them right. So far he isn't haven't the dropsies and walk into everything that comes with suddenly elongating legs and feet and hands and arms.
I told him there was no sense trying to out-stubborn me as I had many more years of practice so he might as well just do it and save us both a lot of yelling. Still works to a degree here. Keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to work a few more years.
