Bobbie,

Have they had orders back to the States?? Mike's have just come through, and he got AIMD, jacksonville, which is what he wanted. I think Aya is also looking forward to going there, since many of their friends rotate through Florida. I envy you the little grandbaby..........I think that is unlikely with my two!

I remember back when I was about 20 years old, going to the Point to Point races, and betting on him. He rode the Queen Mum's horses( of course, she was just Queen then). Shoot that is 50 years ago!

Chris, Aya and Kaito are being transfered to San Diego in July. Chris is going to an advanced electronics school and then he will be assigned to the USS Ronald Reagan. Chris asked me what Mikes last name is. send it to my personal email bobbiev at comcast dot net. At least I'll have someplace warm to go to next February. LOL Bobbie V.

It's often not funny getting older lol I always remind myself of Bette Davis saying "Old age is no place for sissies" - she was soooo right !

Ah - I do still enjoy her! The Nine Tailors is one of my favorites.

There is a 'new' Dorothy Sayer "Lord Peter" book out. It's called "A Presumption of Death", and is based on a series of mock letters Sayers wrote for the Spectator in 1939 and 1940 supposedly to and from the Wimsey family. Jill Paton Walsh used the letters to write the book.

It fills in some of the gaps of what happened to the family during the war, and Harriet is the main detective since Lord Peter is away on a secret mission.

I'll have to look out for that. Sounds interesting.

While I love the Harriet Vine stories, I really think Lord Peter is at his best in that one. I love the short stories too! C
