I have to share it with my artist dd later, the 10 yr old dd watched with me this morning, she liked the end result, but thought some of the stages were "icky" LOL

Nice drawing . Looks like an exercise from figure drawing studio. The interesting thing is the actual animating. I'd guess the artist drew it on his tablet, but then the erasing as you add layers was cool.
The artist that I did a couple of years of studio classes with would periodically make us do that. Of course, his looked great, mine not quite so great. I'm thinking that your DD hasn't had a full figure studio class yet (age thing). Once she does an anatomy for artists class, etc - she'll be doing this kind of stuff, as well.
