I'm bummed

My real life is getting in the way of what I WANT to do. Since my mother won't let me have a temper tantrum in front of her anymore and my husband just rolls his eyes and my 3-year-old seems to think she can hissyfit better than I can, I have to come here.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for your support.

There, there. Just sell them all to the gypsies, and live your life your way.

Honey - can I switch with you? You can take care of my 50+ year old infant and I'll come deal with your woes!

Elizabeth,

This is why you have cyber friends. You can vent all you want or need to and we understand.

I surprised my two sons when they were about 3 1/2 years old and 20 months old and I gave myself a time-out. They did not know that mommy could do that to herself. I locked myself in the bathroom for 10 minutes (all the doors to the house were locked so no one could escape) and read a book. At that point in my life reading was something I did for someone else. Felt so good.

Everything was better after that.

Feel better and feel free to vent with your friends.

All together now a pre-holiday AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

Now I can go get started on decorating the house for Christmas.

Elizabeth,

When the "dear departed" MIL lived with us for nine years, I think I would have landed up in the mental hospital, if I didn't have my good cyber-friends to vent with!!! Many of them, I am sure, remember the tales of the EMIL!!!!

Yes, as a matter of fact it does. Before I had a family, my mother would take a dig at me and tell me I was 30 going on 13.

Now, "40 going on 14" isn't an insult--it's a fantasy!

Hmmm - maybe we need a glyph for Laying on Floor While Kicking and Screaming? Vent away - in person - you could always stomp your foot and walk out of the room . Personally, I just go deadly silent - that scares 'em worse than a temper tantrum.

Hope whatever spurred the need for a scream has passed.
