OT: Ceiva?

Does anyone have a Ceiva? I'm thinking about getting one for my father who is in a nursing home and would like to know the pros and cons of this digital picture frame. TIA

Well, we just got one for my MIL, so you can email me in a few weeks to find out the results if you like ;-) It does require a subscription fee, so there is an ongoing cost (~$100/year if you buy a year at a time and there's a local phone number). You have to make the commitment to send photos regularly. If he wants prints of the photos, he would have to go online to get those (though you don't have to have a computer or go online to have the pictures displayed on the viewer). It does need to be hooked into a phone line and it will make calls overnight to load pictures. I think the display area is about 5x7, so the pictures aren't huge (if his eyesight is poor). Still, overall it seems like quite a nice way to keep someone in touch with the family as long as you're willing to make the commitment to upload photos regularly.

Best wishes, Ericka
