Well, yesterday I tried to blow my hair dry without plugging in the dryer. And a friend of mine tried to put her sweater on with the hanger still in it....I suppose those qualify....

One of mine was this morning, when I watered the Amaryllis with MILK!!! I always keep an empty milk container to fill with rainwater for watering indoor plants, and was making coffee at the time, and grabbed the wrong cobtainer! It`s a good thing that Amaryllis are forgiving (I hope!) as I just had to flood it with water several times in an attempt to rinse the milk through.

In fact, this Amaryllis has already struggled, as I completely forgot about it after I bought it, and suddenly spotted it poking about 6 inches above it`s box, with a big fat bud! I hastily planted it and it gave me a beautiful stem of five flowers - a second stem has since appeared.

What`s your daftest "Senior Moment"? We could do with a laugh in these dreary weeks after Christmas.

I only *just* had one since first reading your post earlier today!

I was sitting before the TV with DD this afternoon watching a DVD of "Battlestar Galactica" (she's a huge fan and wanted to share it) and stitching. I got up to change the disc, and came back to resume stitching and looked all over for the Handeze glove that I could have sworn I'd put next to me on the couch, or on the end table, or maybe I was sitting on it? After 2 minutes of searching all about and under things ("It was *just* there!"), I looked at my hand, and yes, I was still wearing it! DUH!

Gee Pat, I'm not old enough to have senior moments.lol. Truth be told, the dumbest thing I did was search for 10 minutes for my glasses, snapping at dds to get off their backsides and help me look. One dd pointed out that they were actually on top of my head. By the time I had them on my nose again, I forgot what it was I wanted to see in the first place :(

LOLOL! You don`t have to BE "senior" to have a senior moment, you know! Our main problem with searching for specs is not being able to see to find them without actually wearing them! LOL!

What you describe is almost the same as going off to another room to fetch something, and then being completely unable to remember what it was - until you`ve gone all the way back to where you started!

That would have to be when , as a child during family breakfast, I grabbed the OJ and poured it on my cereal instead of the milk (and they were in totally different containers)!!!!

Oh. I`ve done that! Actually it was only plain cornflakes and tasted quite nice!

Well, I don't know about milk, but I do know that my ivy responds wonderfully to left over cold tea.

I have to watch when I hulling strawberries that I don't save the hulls and throw the berries out!

Marg

Did that just last week! Poured the OJ over my Shredded Wheat biscuit! YUCK!

Have you ever made a lovely stock, carefully simmering it all afternoon? Then you strain it, right? Well, try straining it right down the sink, saving all those bones, bay leaf, peppercorns, celery tops, etc! It's rather like locking the keys in your car, when you realize the very instant the door shuts that you have done it -- the instant the stock goes down the drain and you're standing there holding the garbage you know you DID IT AGAIN!

Oh dear - I can just imagine how you felt! You mean you did that more than once? :-(

As for the car - we did that at the doctor`s surgery (a VW Beetle) and even the local Police couldn`t get into it! We finally scrounged a lift from a friend, who took us 7 miles home where we had to break into our own house (yes, the house keys were with the car keys!) to pick up the spare set!

Only last year we were at Tesco`s and as John slammed the lid of the boot on the shopping, then realised he`d put the car keys in there whilst he`d been loading it up. That time we had to get a taxi back home for the keys. Fortunately I had a house key in my purse - now I have a spare car key too!

I could have SWORN I had "O.T`d" it - but if I didn`t, I have now! "Pat P"

I used to work with a guy that but OJ on his bran cereal. SHUDDER!

Story time!

I once dated a young man that, while in many ways brilliant, was a tad short on common sense.

One evening, I took, the late bus into Boston and he met me at the bus stop, which was not in the best part of town. That night, he left the car running with the keys in the ignition and LOCKED the car. The mounted officer just stood there and laughed. I think the horse was laughing too. [said car had numerous MIT parking stickers.]

With some handy yarn from my purse, the oil dip stick, some good old Girl Scout know-how (how to tie a slip knot) and a little ingenuity, I looped the yarn over the button, pulled the loop tight and then straight up. Bingo, one unlocked car door.

Or drop the peeled garlic in the compost bin....

x-no-archive:yes

I did that once, fortunately only with the broth from the giblets but I don't particularly blame that on age. I believe, in that instance, that it's a job one has done so many times that ones brain goes into overdrive, you are thinking of other things, and voila, it happens lol

In watching a documentary about Yassir Arafat, he had the weirdest diet he stuck with, breakfast being corn flakes with cold tea poured over them.

When Jill was teaching, occasionally teachers would have locked cars, with no keys to unlock them, for many different reasons. There were a handful of students in the school from "the wrong side of the tracks". All one had to do was find one of these students, and bingo!!! in very little time the car was unlocked.

Once upon a time - with a particular car - DH locked himself out of it repeatedly and started to carry a spare key in his wallet!
