OT: Finally some downtime

The past few weeks have been crazy. On top of both DH and I working full time, we bought and moved into a condo, moved out of an apartment, and hosted Thanksgiving dinner. I also had a head cold last week, as well as a big midterm exam. DH has like 3 proposals due by Nov. 1. Today, I took the afternoon off to wait for the cable guy, and I now have cable/internet!

While the condo is still in shambles with boxes everywhere, I feel like I finally have a chance to breathe. I may even get a chance to do some needlework this weekend! W00t!

Hurrah! I mentally insisted I spend some time stitching last night! I needed it. I'll be you do too!

I have one knitting project I refer to as my "Zen knitting." It's a garter stitch afghan made of leftover yarns....so any color I happen to grab. I don't need to look at it, I just let my hands go and my mind clear.

Even 15 mins helps!

Wow, Mickey -- life in the fast lane, for sure! Hope you can put your feet up, pour a glass of wine or a cuppa tea, and stitch to your heart's content this weekend. Did you start a new project for your new home?

I'm certain you did, Cheryl. With hockey season in full swing, your schedule isn't all relaxation is it?

Zen knitting! I love it.

I don't currently have a project (of any sort) like that, but you are so right that just 15 min helps.

After teaching and my own classes today, I just zoned out at my desk for about 15 min. Literally, just staring off into space. Now if my hands had been occupied, how much better would I have felt?? I think it would have been 100% better.

Great minds, eh, Sue? I have a project pattern picked out for the new home, I just need to decide on the color scheme. It's a blackwork sampler by the Skinner Sisters (I'm too lazy to go get the pattern right now), but I can't decide if I want to do the traditional black on white or something else. I plan a S.E.X. excursion tomorrow to fix that....
