OK - so hopeful that I'm actually going to finally catch a break. I've been getting pinged with some job inquiries - none of which have panned out as most want an active security clearance - NOW, or I'm again too overqualified.
But...I actually had an inquiry today, which got me a brief phone interview with a project person (after the HR person) and I have a real, live, interview next Tuesday. So....keep the fingers crossed - maybe something good will happen. Sounds like a fun for me kind of engineer job - running a T&E program for some stuff being done at National Airport. The project guy kept asking me if I actually did "hands-on" work - Yup. But, I think the HR person had found my resume on an engineering career site, and he hadn't really read it thoroughly - or they've been having a hard time finding people with the get your hands dirty experience - so to speak. So, fingers crossed - let's see.
In the meantime - using the other side of my brain I'm applying for a position at a local winery. Might be more fun - we'll see if they'll talk to me....Certainly would be yummier.
