It is interesting that you insist you know who the person is who had an issue with you, that you know exactly which man it was. It could be someone else, but you assume it's this one man who had an issue with you.
It could very well be that someone else, who didn't want to tell you to your face, has talked about what a lousy job you did on something to others.
Nobody is perfect, but you seem to like to claim you are.
Caryn
It is interesting the things she can expend her precious energy on isn't it?
Cleaning up after herself, no. Working full-time, no. Getting up off the couch to make it all the way to the bathroom, no. Stashing and traveling with friends and family, yes. Supposedly knitting/crocheting for charity, yes. Running down to the charity to drop things off, yes. Spending precious typing energy (which could have been spend earning money) typing long tirades here about how sick she is, and how much worse she has it than anybody here, yes.
Priorities seem out of whack.
Caryn (off to the grocery store, so she has something to cook for her family after a day at work)
Really? Because I haven't gotten much work from RCTN and what little I've gotten, I was told was good work.
If it's who I think you're talking about, my work was used absolutely unchanged, which proves that you're lying to impugn my character because you have no better havoc to cause.
Takes absolutely no effort to click on "show headers" and read them.
Given that you are the one who recommended that I could get my disability in a jiffy by lying to them, claiming I was depressed and suicidal, and I am the one who refused to lie under oath, preferring to get my disability benefits legitimately on my true diagnosis, I think we can all tell who's the fraud here.
Ok I must really jump in at this point--you all are just being petty and nasty. Just for everyone's information let me point out a few things:
- It's hard enough to get SSI disability when your chronically ill without having people tell you your faking or lying. It's a 24/7/365 effort. The only exception is if your dying. Than the whole process can take as little as 3 weeks.
- Someone please explain the logic to me--you pay into SSI from each pay check. That money is supposed to be there to help you if you need it or to help with your retirement. But if you need the money-you have to fight for it. Not only do you have to fight for it--but you have to hire a lawyer. And the government can tell you no you can't have any of the money because you don't look sick or you can't get medical benefits because you don't look sick enough to qualify for SSI disability. But you need the money for meds or medical treatment in order to get well enough to go back to work. Very nice little catch 22.
- The judge in these cases can drag it on for years. requiring test, specialist and evaluation after evaluation. He than reads all the reports that say your very sick and shouldn't be working--or you need retraining to work in a different field so you can possibly go back to work. Than he looks at you and decides that you don't look sick and denies you claim. Another very nice catch 22.
- There isn't a single person in this group that can judge how much pain someone is in nor how much energy a person has. Simple fact. Not a single one here is in the other persons body, feels how that persons body handles that pain or lack on energy. Nor does everyone handle pain in the same manner. Some of us are in pain 24/7/365 to varying degrees. Some day worse than others. We get up and go about our business, sometimes over taxing our selves and causing a flair up. Sorry fakes it's a fact of life. Unless your in my body you have no earthly idea what I'm actually feeling. And by the same token you have no earthly idea how frustrating it is to be told your faking it because one day you have the energy of a buzz saw and the next it hurts so much to even blink brings tears to your eyes. Such is the day to day life of a CFS or Fibro suffer. Throw in nasty little things like degenerative arthritis, Lupus, IBS, or heart problems--and it ain't no picnic.
- Some people feel better when they talk about their illness and how it effects their day to day life. Others-like me--don't. It merely adds to the frustration and depression of what we can no longer do or enjoy. Whatever works for that person is what they should do. And if your tired of hearing about, don't listen or read the post. You know it's kinda like the grand mother that is always talking about the grand kid. Every conversation goes back to that grand kid--when you get tired of it you quit talking to them. Do the same here.
Enough said.
But Dorsey she was petty first!
It is definitely not worth anybody's time anymore dealing with her, I've done my best to ignore her as much as possible for months. Now and then I slip, I'm human, I make mistakes. Her attack on me over something labeled clearly as a vent in the first sentence was too hard to ignore and I gave her back the same sort of crap she gave me. It was beneath me, and I'm going to try once again to ignore the rest of her drivel again.

Exactly. You tend to find what you are looking for. Dawne
Vic, you're totally using this handle as a sockpuppet. I mean, your X-trace is coming back to Austin, TX consistently. And s*it, you're still using Forte 2.0, build #32.652
Give it up. You've been busted. Becky
Go Becky, go!!!
Laughing my not very skinny rear-end off!! Actually, I think Vic wants to be recognised, because it would be so easy to hide if she really wants to. Gillian
Hi Caryn:
I'm not pointing fingers, not accusing anyone of anything, nor will I take sides. But both you and Karen know how devastating untreated Fibro and Lupus were for me. And all the hoops, tricks and such I was put thru only to be told I didn't look sick. LOL never mind I had lost the site in my left eye totally and only had 40% clear vision in the right.
You both gave friendship, hope and support. And it upsets and tears me up to see you two fight so. And I honestly believe that if you two met face to face you'd probably be friends.
So please just keep what I said in the back of your mind. And remember when your in a ton of pain, tired and in the government catch 22--sometimes your overly grumpy.
I beg to differ. I have always gone into a roommate relationship looking for someone who is responsible and honest. And more than half the time have ended up with someone who is a flake, a liar, and has no intention of paying her share of the bills.
When I was having roommates because I could not afford to live alone, I certainly wasn't "looking for" someone who was going to eat my food, run up my phone bill, steal my stuff, and forget to pay the rent/utilities or do her share of the chores. Oddly, when I was the one who was paying for the meat, the sworn vegetarian was suddenly quite happy to eat a whole roast in an afternoon. I most assuredly didn't expect that.
Recently, I fell for the logic that I'd always roomed with young, irresponsible, non-religious student types, and wouldn't have the same result if I took in responsible Christian adults. No such luck; once again, I went into it with high hopes that this time would be different and restore my faith in humanity, and once again, I came out of it convinced that there is no reason to trust anyone to hold up their end of a home-sharing agreement. At this point, I've been burned enough times that I am not getting into that situation again; it's been proven to me that even adults cannot be trusted to do what they promise.
I've been lied to by ministers, and by ministers-in-training, and by doctors, with no reason for me to be looking for dishonesty. In fact, if I'd been looking for them to lie to me, I probably would have been more discerning of the missing facts.
My problem is that I go into relationships naively believing that I can trust people, and then find out the hard way that I'm stupid to think that even a minister is trustworthy. No more. From now on, I approach everyone expecting that I will be lied to, defrauded, stolen from, or used and abused, because that's been the rule, rather than the exception. I have no reason to trust anyone to be honest with me any more, since trust has cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past 30 years. The word "sucker" is no longer tattooed on my forehead because of the number of people who've taken advantage of my trusting nature; I'm now looking for people to be lying to me so that I will be pleasantly surprised when I'm treated fairly.
Yeah, you. I never ever told you to lie, especially telling anyone you were suicidal. You have lost some marbles. I told you to give up the denial and admit you were depressed.
Ahem, who denied it? I always change my posting name. Do we have to go through this again? I only popped in to prove a point. I see the exact same crap now as when I was here months ago. Same whining and crying poor me a violin concerto from the same people, the same others being their usual hateful selves, and guess what? I haven't been here. Therefore, it's not me who creates the petiness of this newsgroup. It's here with or without me. Do you honestly think I am so stupid? If I wanted to be anonymous, I'd use my yahoo account, which I didn't do.
I'd have to be hiding in order to want to be found out. It would be very easy to hide.
You know, this is all true. She hasn't posted here in ages, and the rest of us (and I am including myself here) still do the stupid petty crap without her.
She reappears and gets the same old crap thrown at her all over again by the same people. She's always popped up with new email addresses, and it's been explained over and over. She tends not to sign her posts, always has, so that is nothing new either. It didn't take rocket scientists to figure out it was her, she didn't try to change her style of posting at all afterall.
The sockpuppet accusation and the glee with which it was greeted was just more proof that this group is as petty as Vic accused us of being. Heaven help a new person who agrees with Vic or myself when expressing an opinion about Karen, cuz they'll be labelled a sockpuppet and attacked too.

LOL! Sock-puppets of the world unite!!! At least we`re not suckers. (Apart from me DEFINITELY not being a rocket scientist - I wasn`t sure it was Vic!)

*sigh*
It's not a matter of agreeing with anybody. I'm not agreeing with, or disagreeing with, anybody. I have no opinion as to the whole thing. I don't care, it's not my business. Leave me out of the whole Everyone VS. Everyone stuff.
As to the sockpuppet thing, I think it's valid. As you pointed out, there was a certain measure of glee in the response. This sort of "Look what I did! I made you blink!" stuff is ridiculous. Changing handles as if they were underwear is usually the MO of some of the more troublesome internet types. It may not be the case in this instance, but most of the time it's true.
Anyways, I'm not picking a fight with anybody. Y'all do as you please. I'm just here to be friends and talk stitching.
My ranting and crankiness is reserved for my husband ;-) Becky
You managed to totally miss the point, the glee your accusation was greeted with is an indication of a PROBLEM with the group at large, not vindication of your accusation. Your making the accusation does make you part of the problem as well. You can't unring the bell, you said what you said, you threw the word "sockpuppet" into the mix.
Vic changes her name because of a "troublesome internet type" not because she is one, she's barely ever here anymore, although others bring her up over and over in what is usually an unpleasant way.
Throwing accusations around could label you as a "troublesome internet type" as well. Something to think about.
Your sockpuppet post, the childish "you're busted" bit....not friendly or stitching related.
