OT: It just figures!

Major Vent coming...consider yourself warned!

Today is my day off from my job. My job may be about to turn into a 7 day a week job for the next few weeks...heck until Xmas even.

So, I'd planned to spend today getting my house into decent shape, hoping that if it starts as clean as I can get it, we can maintain it if I'm not home as much. As in, Dude and kids need to step up and help out more.

So, I wake up with a headache, a viral thing in my throat and just to add the final touch...my period complete with cramps.

I managed to get the kitchen clean, all the counters are wiped down, the fridge has been totally cleaned out, walls and shelves washed. Any moldy bread, stale chips, stale cookies, etc have been tossed.

Then I go upstairs to do the bills and other bookkeeping chores, dangit, forgot to grab the electric bill from the table downstairs! Run down to grab it, stepping over the dog laying at the bottom of the stairs. Said dog choses to stand up, throwing me off balance and I end up spraining my ankle (again, I have stretched out ligaments, ankles sprain easily).

So, now I still have to clean bathrooms, cook dinner, and try to get a bit more done while hobbling around, sucking throat lozenges, craving chocolate and heating pads, and generally being grumpy.

ok, venting helped...thanks to whoever listened.

Put your feet up as Much as possible ,,,, i have learned years ago to do most home work , sitting... esp ironing, and i kept the sprained leg on a stool . Good and quick healing to you . Ps a sprain should get Physiotherapy as well . mirjam

LOL, yeah, something like that.

The "king" isn't having the best week either.

Here's hoping next week is better!

It's better this morning, was only a mild sprain. I've had some doozies, so I know the drill. First 24 hours you do R.I.C.E. (Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate), after that heat helps. And of course take anti-inflammatories for as long as it's hurting.

Working on my feet today should be interesting tho!

Acetaminophen is Tylenol, which may alleviate some of the pain but won't do anything for the inflammation. For that an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen or aspirin would be better.

Aspirin is still the best anti-inflammatory that they have. People reject it because it has been around for years and is cheap. Fools :)

For what it's worth, I've found Naproxen works best for me. Doesn't do much, painwise, but does bring down swelling noticably.

Took some this morning, got me thru work!

Just watch out because they're all terribly hard on the stomach.

Unless you're me and shouldn't take. One or two doses is OK, after that I start breaking platelets.

Aspirin being the best pain reliever and anti-inflammatory was not my words, but rather, the words of a Rheumatologist. Figure he probably has made a life study of it.

If you can't take it, then that is different. Most can take aspirin but reject it. I take 1300 mg of coated aspirin per day, keeps my knees in order and keeps me free of pain so I can sleep. If I forget to take it last thing at night, by 2a.m. I remember lol
