Good as ever, you always reach the high notes lol
Wish I could join you! I completely lost my voice last week. Now I can talk again, but the singing hasn't come back. I had my last solfege class last Saturday, and could only observe, not participate. ;-(
On Sunday I was scheduled to sing a solo at church, but have postponed until the 20th. Keep your fingers crossed for me that it's back by then! It doesn't seem to be in any hurry to return.
So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAWNE! I can shout it (at last), but can't sing it!

Thank you everyone--the harmony on the chorus was particularly lovely.
For my birthday, (so far) besides the lovely singing I have received--two feet of snow in my yard, and a phone call from an uncle I haven't heard from in 20 years! This mends some family fences that never should have been broken by my mother, (old age doesn't always bring wisdom) and so was a special gift indeed.
The snow, on the other hand......

Happy Birthday!! And I'm delighted to hear of the renewed ties. I had a similar situation, until I spent the money and went ahead and called my aunt across the pond. Even though she died a year ago, I will always be glad I had contact with her for the previous ten years. (and we both figured my mother didn't need to know about it - none of her business!)

Well, my mother is gone now. She "could be difficult", as my uncle said, but so could the whole batch of them. My uncle once put a Christmas card through the mail slot in my aunt's door to have it promptly whooosh back out at him. Hindsight makes colourful stories even a bit amusing--but not at the time. There was always so much drama, and secrecy (too hard to remember who was supposed to know what, and heaven defend you if you told). Sometimes families make you really really thankful for your friends!

Someone once remarked that you could choose your friends but you were stuck with your family.
My difficult mother, aka the bitch, made enemies of everyone in the family. As a result, I never had a relationship with anyone and I missed out on a lot.
