Nothing terribly tramatic, just had a really lousy day on top of several not so great days.
My boss (who is generally a pretty good boss) landed me with a huge inventory to be compiled of various and sundry pieces of information about all the computer systems our office supports. No problem, done it before. But no, we need it tomorrow and this inventory includes requests for information we've never had to gather before. Okay, so I write a quick and dirty little program that will go out and gather the info for me and then I just have to compile it into the spreadsheet. BUT NO, our building network is fried because one of the routers decided to eat itself for lunch. Cisco has been called and there is no time frame for repairs. Can't access the system I tell my boss because of the network problems, "no problem, just print what you have and we'll fill in the blanks tomorrow". Can't print the $%^&$@ file because it is on my network drive, which I can't get to because of the network issue. Now it is after 7:00 and I have had to cancel my voice lesson and tell my choir director that I will be missing my third rehearsal in a row and probably shouldn't sing in the concert on Sunday because I have missed three rehearsals in a row. Three because, oh yeah, I had the FLU two weeks ago and am still trying to cough up a lung half the time. And just to make the day complete it is rainy and cold. Generally I don't mind that type of weather, but does seem that that is the only kind of weather we have had for the last couple of weeks. No rain practically all summer and now nothing but rain and the idiots who think that just because their car starts in the morning that they own the road and can do whatever they please without looking to see if they are going to kill someone else by doing whatever they please.
The real kicker is that I am so peeved at the world and life in general I am too wired to stitch. Normally stitching would be a good stress reliever, but I fear in my state of mind that any stitching I tried to do would have to be frogged and that would just add to my discontent and then I see patterns being crumpled, q-snaps being thrown across that room, fabric being shredded and floss being tangled.
Thanks for letting me vent. Now I am off to soak in a tub of the hottest water I can stand with a book and a large glass of my favorite wine.
