And the incident Mirjam complains about is that I had received an e-mail from someone IN Israel telling me what was going on and passed along the information I received. But since my friend gets her news from the English-language media and it wasn't exactly what Mirjam heard in Hebrew, it wasn't the fault of the translator, it was somehow *my* fault that my friend's information didn't square with Mirjam's.

This was not something I could argue the point, since the only information I had was contained in the e-mail.

Yes it's me! I am well, thank you.........and hoping that the tumult in my life settles down soon. My mother passed away a few years ago and my father is descending into dementia. It's so very sad. He's in interim care at the moment and I have high hopes that he will be in permanent care soon. Then I will be able to relax.

I haven't been stitching much. But I have been knitting socks and scarves and things that don't require huge concentration and am learning how to applique. I find handwork comforting.

I looked at your stitching photos the other day - wow! Beautiful work!

Well there we are, great minds think alike, fools seldom differ, I can't count how many pairs of socks I have knitted in the past few years. My oldest friend in the UK said her friends think her socks are weird and she knows her weird friend sends them, I told her it's all part of 'When I grow old I shall wear purple" - or the bit "I shall spit in the street" lol

I am still in touch, and I'm sure I could get her to send a picture. It might take her a while to get around to it with a couple of small fry underfoot, but she'd get it eventually. I'll ask her, and then try to remember to mention it here when I get it posted.

That's why I liked the version I did--no weaving or going back. It's all done at the same time, so you see the mistakes right away. That's critical for me! If I didn't have anything to keep me on the straight and narrow, I'd have more mistakes than right stitches, I'm sure! ;-) I'd be frustrated out of my mind if I had to keep counting stitches all the time to make sure I was on track.

At the time, i offered you to give my phone number to your friend in Tel Aviv , so that i can help her with understanding the news .If i recall well , you said at the time that she got her information from a Neighbour who like her wasn`t fluent in Hebrew. The difference wasn`t between what that friend Heard in the English Media and i heard in Hebrew, but that i or some of my close friends were On the spot where some of those events happened , [and i was on phone connections with my friends] . The poroblem was that YOU insisted that your friend in TelAviv was more capeable of knowing what was going on ,, while we sat in the Middle of the events ,,,,,Not only that , from my house one could Hear exactly where many falls were, But why ruin a nice story ,,, Ps Karen it is not the only time you picture yourself Knowing better than others ,,,,[not only me] ,,,,, mirjam
