Aw man...it did not work

I just can not handle that cast-on issue! Not the Double Cast On I usually use. But the other one knitter needs when there should be done more stitches after the ones you already have. I think it is single cast on or something. I just do not handle it no matter how hard I try. Maybe the double cast on and from waist to head is the only way to knit for me. Best: Pirjo

This is how I think of it.

Knit one stitch. Instead of slipping the new stitch off the left needle onto the right needle, put it back on the left needle. Repeat until you have the number of stitches on the left needle the pattern calls for.

I hope that helps.

Or, you can try this.

All sts are on left needle, insert right needle between last two sts, yo, and draw loop between these last two sts. Place new st on left needle, and repeat until you have the required amount of new sts. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, work loosly.

Hope I explained that good enough...lol

Pirjo, I may have missed some of the previous conversation but are you talking about the "Knitting-On" method of cast on? That is the first one I was taught. There is a video on this site. Just scroll down a bit until you see Knitting On and then click on the pink icon if you are a Continental knitter and the blue if you use the English method.

aw Pirjo, never mind you had a go, and it just means the time isn't right for you to learn this method, I don't understand all these techno words double cast on and single and all the other jargon (words) used so I'd be pretty well lost as well... The time is not right for you just yet...

Ah so that is what it is called, it's how I always cast on, to me it's just casting on....lol

there must be a step by step pic guide somewhere on the net I'll trawl later and see if I can find any that may help Pirjo understand it.

Hi Cher, How are you? It's been a while eh? Did I show you that finished sweater I did???????? I have done a scarf since too. Hope your New Year is a great one, Susie

I can't do that either. So I just do it on the next row. I cast on as usual and when I have enough stitches I simply knit into the next stitch on the knitting already done... if that makes sense
