I made more soup, didn't fill the jars up all the way, just up to the neck and it still didn't work. I guess I'll just have to freeze soup instead. Carol In WI

I didn't see your original post, but I assume your jars didn't seal. When that happens to me, I reprocess them in the jars. First make sure all the lids and jar mouths are clean (i.e., no little pieces of food that will prevent a seal.)
I tighten the lids, then loosen them a quarter turn. I put as many jars as will fit into a large pot, with a towel or washcloth underneath them to prevent banging, and put water up to nearly the level of the contents. I bring it to a boil, cover, and boil about 15 minutes. Then I uncover the pot and let the jars cool in the water. Usually all of the jars seal that way.
Sometimes the rubber on the lid is really hard and the lid needs to be boiled for about 5 minutes before putting it on the jar in order to get the seal.
